I’m writing this ‘cause it’s interesting to me, but is it interesting to YOU?
I’ve been obsessed with Kitchen Nightmares lately. Besides the whole Amy’s Baking Company fiasco, there’s something just enjoyable about an angry British man yelling at people to get their shit together, on television. I enjoyed Hotel Hell as well, but I don’t think they’re doing that show anymore?
Anyway, last night, Alex and I decided to get on Netflix and watch Kitchen Nightmares but he wanted to see what the British one was like. Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. It felt like barely the same show.
Everything is so chaotic and dramatic on our version. Dramatic music. Dramatic editing. Theirs was quiet. Calm. Still, telling people off, but still, much calmer. It almost felt like a documentary.
Compare:
American Version (cuss words censored on television)
UK Version (clips from the episode I watched last night)
I want to use these examples as an analogy of how our countries differ, or something, but I’m still yet to leave the country, so what the hell do I know.
anime propaganda from the Avatars of They.
Joss Whedon AND They Might Be Giants on Jimmy Fallon tonight. I’m acting like an idiot and posting this everywhere, but whatever. Super excited. Dreams do come true.

This is weird ‘cause I saw an interview with Jim Henson once where he said, “We couldn’t have made a more popular character if we has tried,” about Miss Piggy. So, most people disagree?
I know this isn’t the point.(via llcooljasonalexander)
